Flying longlegs

Video - Short film
2017 | Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark

Once in a while, for few rational reasons, I’d choose a random animal and model a 3D-version of it. Rarely would the digital fabricant leave the 3D-software, but in this case, it did.

This one belongs to the animal family Tipulidae, crane flies or daddy longlegs as they’re mostly known as, are some of the oldest known insects that still exist. They may sometimes look like clumsy giant mosquitos, but are completely harmless to you and me.

Not to be confused with the daddy longlegs spiders which similarly have long legs and a relatively small body. Yet, the latter are arachnids (six legs) and don’t fly.

Also:

I really, really hate that I have to state this, but there’s so much Generative AI-slop out there (yes, even content that pretends to be scientific). Know that I do not use AI for any of my writings, visuals nor thoughts. It’s all written and visualised by a human, meaning me, unless stated otherwise. Therefore, you can always reach out to me if there’s anything factually or grammatically incorrect.

Now, thank you for your interest in this page – I hope you enjoy it!
