Beware of clouds!

Video - Storms, storms, storms
2023 | Kerry, Ireland

One wouldn’t think it, but clouds can produce super strong winds by their own doing. This video might look like it’s showing winds from a typical North Atlantic storm. But the quick footage is from 20 m/s winds during a small January rainstorm over Rossbeigh that lasted maximum 15 minutes. These isolated rainstorms mostly occur when cold air collapses from great heights through a cloud. As this falling air hits the ground after a several kilometres drop, it’s blasted out in all directions, causing potentially destructive winds.

The piece of wooden debris chasing the car in this video could’ve chased me as well.

Also:

I really, really hate that I have to state this, but there’s so much Generative AI-slop out there (yes, even content that pretends to be scientific). Know that I do not use AI for any of my writings, visuals nor thoughts. It’s all written and visualised by a human, meaning me, unless stated otherwise. Therefore, you can always reach out to me if there’s anything factually or grammatically incorrect.
