Animating a dinosaur

Video - Animation

There’s nothing wrong with your device – there’s no sound on the video unfortunately.

Let it be know that there were a few decades in which people did CGI and computer animation instead of getting content from Generative AI-systems.

Modelling, texturing, shading, rigging, troubleshooting, lighting, rendering and compositing a realistic creature in 3D to match real footage is a long process. So much so that I finally gave up dressing this dromaeosaur up with feathers.

My friend here genuinely did a fantastic acting job at conveying fear and terror towards the theropod dinosaur. It was a creative let-down that I couldn’t get that last element (the feathers) to work, and as such, these are the only clips I finalised.

Ah well, some Gen AI-tools out there could probably give it feathers.

Also:

I really, really hate that I have to state this, but there’s so much Generative AI-slop out there (yes, even content that pretends to be scientific). Know that I do not use AI for any of my writings, visuals nor thoughts. It’s all written and visualised by a human, meaning me, unless stated otherwise. Therefore, you can always reach out to me if there’s anything factually or grammatically incorrect.

Now, thank you for your interest in this page – I hope you enjoy it!
