Geology nugget

Also:

I really, really hate that I have to state this, but there’s so much Generative AI-slop out there (yes, even content that pretends to be scientific). Know that I do not use AI for any of my writings, visuals nor thoughts. It’s all written and visualised by a human, meaning me, unless stated otherwise. Therefore, you can always reach out to me if there’s anything factually or grammatically incorrect.

Now, thank you for your interest in this page – I hope you enjoy it!

Geological heritage postcards

Writing this as the annual tour for Hardcore Cork is fully booked! 2025 will be the fourth year in a row that this tour goes ahead, and it’s my favourite way of promoting Cork’s geological history.

It’s been an absolute pleasure preparing and re-researching for this one while bracing for a relaunch of Hardcore Cork with new content. New items includes these postcards that I only printed a limited number of – you may get your hands on them at the City Library, City Council or a select few cafés in town.

Genuinely grateful to Geological Survey Ireland and Cork City Council for the funding to realise this, to the researchers at UCC for their time, to local experts for the chats and to Aude Cincotta for trusting me with continuing this project.

Thank you so much if you’re registered for this Saturday August the 16th and see you there!
